Re: Intro
Welcome to the Falco world Bob. It is a world of eccentric perfectionists who appreciate the emotive soul of machinery as much as the performance and handling. I have about 50 aircraft on my license and have yet to fly anything better - it really does fly better than it looks. And it looks fantastic...

Re: Jason Strong
Jason, I am grateful to be writing this to you here, as the outcome of your accident could have been so very different.
Wishing you well and I have no doubt that after you have flown other aircraft as a replacement for N708CW, you will soon be looking for another Falco.

Re: Cowling replacement
Hi Wayne, you are going to have to be more specific as there are 5 different production runs, each with their own cowling - series I to IV and then the Sequoia amatuer built ones.

Re: Jason Strong
Hi Jason, welcome to the Falco world. I have flown a RV7 and they are truly great planes but as Jeremy Clarkson said of the world's best cars (Audi's) is that they have no soul. I love my Falco, which is being restored, rebuilt and modified whilst trying to keep it airworthy. Alan Evan-Hanes ZU-BTT ...

Re: Angus Buchanan
Thanks for this it makes some very sad sobering reading. If a very capable guy with nearly all his time in that aircraft can get it wrong, what chance do we have except ensuring we have lots and lots of altitude. Damn shame to lose such a fine pilot with a really beautiful Falco. Sincerest condolenc...

Re: Landing Gear Switch
After much trial, tribulation and frustration I managed to find a switch and have machined a suitable aluminum "wheel" to go on the end in the correct orientation. The tap to cut a hole into the wheel is an unusual thread (3/8 x 32 UNEF) which cost a packet. Now to get it anodised white.

Re: Insurance
I have been scouring the insurers here in South Africa for hull cover.
They kindly offered it at 25% pa premium with a 25% excess.
Guess I will self insure. I have not even scraped a wing tip in 30+ years of flying of which over 500 hours on taildraggers.

Landing Gear Switch
My Falco has a non standard (wheel orientation is 90deg on lever, so it is perpendicular and looks awful) landing gear selector switch. I wish to replace this but am battling to find a suitable part that will not require me to pledge my mothers false teeth to a banker to buy it. Any ideas on the ori...
