How Tall Are You?

Hello everyone, I’m Mike from northern Utah.
I’ve been fawning over the Falco for years and am getting close to my now or never point. My issue is is that I’m tall, about 6’5”. Are there any other tall pilots here? Is it possible to add an inch or two to a standard Falco?

Hi Mike. This is Mike from Burlington, Ontario.
Our check pilot is over 6 feet. It depends on how long your torso is I guess.
BTW I am putting mine on the market. It was completed in 2022. Now has 30 ish hours. Lycoming IO-360 B1E, 180 hp. 10 hours. New Hertzell constant speed. Dual GRT Horizon screens. Dual AHARS. Auto pilot, AOA, etc., etc.
Meticulously built and hangared. Professional leather seating and side panels.
US$ 140,000.

Hi Mike,
I am 6'3" and only just fit in a standard canopy. Sadly the Falco was designed by a tiny (but brilliant) Italian man, in times when even big men were much smaller. However do not let this put you off a truly spectacular plane. There are some things you can do to gain a bit of cockpit space and seeing you are building it there is no reason you cannot make some minor amendments to accommodate you.
I would try to find a Falco near you and have an attempt at sitting in it with the canopy closed. You can gain the entire height equal to that of the entire bottom seat cushion being removed so that might be a test. Weight wise it, it can easily carry you but maybe not for high G aerobatics.
Kindest regards
