Vanni Scagnetti

A very unhappy day

Vanni Scagnetti had a bad day on March 11, 2007 when he had an accident with his Falco, I-MIKI, a 1959 Falco and indeed the only Falco ever built with a Lycoming 0-340 engine. At first, he thought he was going to have to 'throw away' the airplane, because the mechanics working on the plane were unable to find replacement rod bolts for the out-of-production engine. Check out the accident photos for the full story.

Stelio Frati and Vanni Scagnetti

But this story has a happy ending. Mr. Frati was able to help out.

And now the Falco is back in the air.
