Testers Wanted |

We are in the process of completely redrawing all of the A-sized drawings (these are the 8-1/2" x 11" drawings in the Falco Construction Drawings notebook). The drawings will show the same parts, same dimenions, etc., but they will be done in our CAD program and there are a number of stylistic changes to make the drawings easier to read. An example is shown above, and here's a PDF file of the same drawing. (It's possible some of the fonts may not come across to your machine.) Whenever you make this many changes, you run the possibility of creating errors. I'm looking for about five Falco builders who would be willing to proof-read the new drawings. In particular, I would like to have testers/proof-readers who are very familiar with drawings and the 'language of lines'. For example, you should be able to see where a solid line should be a dashed line because it indicates a hidden line -- that sort of thing. And as you can see from the drawing above, we are departing from standard drafting techniques in that we are using color shading to indicate outlines of parts, etc. Since the drawings will be printed in black-and-white, we are only using shades of gray at this time, although one day we may go to different colors to indicate different types of metals. If you are interested in being a tester, please contact me. I would be particularly interested in knowing of your technical training in this area. And please don't volunteer for this if you don't plan to really proof the drawings. Thanks, Alfred Scott |
