I don't mind doing the work to write WildTools for all of you out there, but there's something you can do for me -- create an entry in the Drawing Room, so we can show off your work and spread the news about what you can draw with PowerCADD and WildTools. I've tried pleading, begging, supplication, threats and personal intimidation, with varying success. In the case of a particularly slippery and pigheaded user, I was forced to resort to blackmail, complete with a signed Blackmail Agreement, to get an entry in the Drawing Room. I had no choice! I concluded that blackmail pays, and so from October 2000 to August 2001 we had a Fully Integrated Beta Testing/Blackmail Program! Of course it was all done in jest and meant to be a lot of fun for everyone. But during that period, we had an explosion of entries in the Drawing Room. Just take a look at the list of Blackmailees listed above. Looking back on it, this created the best and most effective marketing tool we ever had for marketing PowerCADD and WildTools. So, we're going to do it again. At this time, there are a lot of new features in WildTools that will be available in WildTools 9 which will be released with PowerCADD 8. Here is how it works: While beta testing is going on, we will need five (5) new entries per month for testing to continue. Each version of NewTools has an expiration date, and if we don't meet our blackmail quota, then you're all going to have to do without the features until we get caught up. For those of you who already have a Drawing Room entry, we will count a major upgrade of the entry as meeting the blackmail quota. We're looking to create diversity here, so if you do something unusual with PowerCADD, beer labels, panther cages, model railroads, pinups for pedophiles, etc., then we'd like create a separate entry for that as well. I don't know about all of you, but I'm tired of going to parties and have people make condescending comments about Macs, and how the world belongs to Windows and AutoCAD, and this is the only way I know to fight back. So, I'm going look forward to hearing from all of you! Call it blackmail, extortion, bribery or symbiotic exhibitionism, or anything else you like, but I am completely unapologetic about this -- just look at the Drawing Room that we have now and the great drawings that are in there. And just think about the honor of becoming a Blackmailee and joining the elite group listed above. Alfred Scott |
