Text Adjuster Tool
There is also a Text Adjuster tool. This is something Frank Christensen
asked for and I question whether anyone else will ever need it.
In Frank's case, he has done his drawings in PC 2000 using Adobe
Graphite font. When the drawing is brought to PC 6, the font is
changed the OS X version of Graphite is higher or lower than before,
with the result that all of this text is shifted up or down. Frank
asked for a tool that would allow him to move the text a given
amount.
You can use the tool by clicking directly on a text object, and it will move. The tool will invade groups, so you can click on a text object inside a group and that text object only will move.
You can press the Option key to move the text in the opposite direction.
You can also press the Shift key and click on a text object with the Magic Wand tool, and the tool will move all text objects in the drawing with the same font and font size as the object that you click on.
Again, I have no idea if anyone else will ever need this tool, but please give it a gander and let me know what you think. My initial thought is that this will be something I will keep around for a while but will not include in WildTools.

The Text Adjuster tool would be especially useful to me if it worked on dimension objects. When I draw dimensions, the text is higher off of the base line than I like, and it would be nice to be able to move it down. Mike Emde To do: |
