Instrument Calibration

You can calibrate the Airspeed Indicator, Altimeter, Manifold Pressure Gauge and the Tachometer by fitting curves of indicated vs actual. When these are calibrated, the airspeed, altitude, manifold pressure and engine rpm used in the drag polar flight tests are changed to the calibrated amount.

Pitot-Static System Calibration

Similarly, the pitot-static system can be calibrated as well, and these calibrated values are used in the drag polar flight test data reduction and analysis.
